Chart a course for adventure with Sinbad!

Sinbad is a young man with bravery, agility, and a strong sense of justice. Despite this, his looks not only make it impossible for him to get a date, but also cause him to stand out from his fellow villagers and even his family. He’s long known that he’s different from everyone else, but it’s only after he helps a girl recover her lost crystal ball that he gets a peek into his past and learns his feelings are true. To get the whole picture of his past, he’ll need to set out on a life-changing journey, where foes and danger await. Join in this legendary time-spanning adventure crafted by storied manga creator Atsuji Yamamoto.

Originally published in Japan in 1989, Sinbad melds classic shonen artwork and storytelling with a tale as old as time!

SINBAD is a complete series collected into 4 volumes in Japan, each of which will be released at A5 (5.83" x 8.27") size by Manga Mavericks Books.

About Atsuji Yamamoto

Atsuji Yamamoto is a manga artist with decades of experience in the industry. He was one of the first students of legendary manga writer Kazuo Koike’s Gekiga Sonjuku school, a college course designed for aspiring manga artists, where he studied alongside other future manga luminaries like Rumiko Takahashi, whom he would later be an assistant for on her debut work Urusei Yatsura. After graduating college, he worked as an assistant for Haruki Etsumi on his series Chie the Brat, which was later adapted into a popular anime directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata. Yamamoto made his debut as a manga creator in 1978 in the Weekly Manga Action manga magazine. Some of his most notable works include the screwball action-comedies Ultimate Teacher and Elf 17, which have both been adapted into anime. He is also known for drawing an X-Men manga adaptation in 1995 and for being the character designer for the Metal Max video game series. Yamamoto is an avid cat lover and has an entire online store dedicated to merch just featuring his cat illustrations and designs.
